does any one know why none of our british race tracks are featured in the game. the level of realism of the included tracks such as nurburgring is fantastic. its alleged to be accurate to within 15mm!

if we had brands hatch or other superb track recreated in such realistic detail i am sure sales of the game would increase.

i mean its all well and good racing the bentley speed 8 across some track in tokyo or new york city but how about a new shape exige through paddock hill bend! would at least keep me happy until the club racing season starts.

It's to do with licensing.

Many of the UK circuits have an exclusive deal with Codemasters (TOCA RaceDriver) which rules out their use on GT.

If you haven't played it, I'd try TOCA - not quite up there with GT but would probably quell your need for speed untill the season begins.

I'd pay serious money for a game that let me drive at breakneck speed around Manchester and my home.

They certainly measured it to that accuracy but I doubt very much that they've replicated the course to precisely that degree.

if licensing is the case for tracks is this the same for cars. lotus seems to have allowed the game the various models of the s2 elise. 111s 111r but no exige s1 or s2! i cant believe that lotus would not allow the exige to be included. i was pretty annoyed when i found this out. maybe i should stop picking holes and criticising a very good game.! i am a grumpy git.

The motorsport Elise is included. Does that help?

Is there really no exige? I thought you had to pass each of the driving licenses to unlock the extra cars and tracks. I started the licenses last night and they take a long time to pass each of the sections. Either that or i'm rubbish.

I prefer TOCA with the damage you can do. The GT series really looses out without this feature.

No way! I hate seeing lovely cars get damaged! It upsets me.....

Yeah, got my copy yesterday. The UK cars are not bad in selection, but no where near as good as GT2 was.

GT4 seems to be the same % of cars from each area, just the fact there are 700 cars, not 150 makes alot of difference. GT3 only had one BMW, GT4 has about 6...

However, GT2 had about 12 BMW's, it had 10 or so TVR's, really good selections!

Still, there is a good selection, and you can always tune up the Lotus Elise to Exige specs for racing!

I'm messing with the M3 CSL, damn it's setup stiff. Compared to the M3 standard, it seems to just jump over all the bumps at the Ring, bouncy bouncy.

Mr Whippy, there are more than just jap cars in the used car yards now so you can pick up other Lotus and TVRs in there.

Indeed I couldn't help myself, and picked up a nice Lotus Carlton in there.

It's not the quickest car, but I just don't care, I love the things.

Oh, and when you buy a new or used car, ALWAYS change the oil, it gives a bit of a performance increase...

Damn....not got a PS2 only got XBOX with PGR2.

Is it worth me buying a copy of GT4 to use on my nephews PS2? We could do a swap!

neilcardiff; I bought a CRX, even slower than yours!

I like the challange on the early races though. Its what makes the game. No full throttle and bouncing off all the walls techniques work when you have little power. Driving technique is the only way to win!

anniesdad: Its worth you buying a PS2 console! For most people, me included, its the only reason they bought a playstation.

Indeed I even brought the GT3 PS2 Special Edition pack - I remember it well because it was two weeks after meeting my current beau, over three and a half years ago!

Just got it yesterday. Tried the Caterham first of all with Nitro, but the powerband is far too narrow(what can you expect from a bike engine). Then bought a S-Type R last night, but I'm still not sure about it.

What's everyone using in GT mode at the moment? Seems a lot of people are going for NSXs' now.

joeninety,
Im currently using a CRX and have now tweaked it only slightly to 167 BHP. Its a good fun car for the Jap compacts race championship and also another championship (I forget which!).

I'll be buying something els now though that fits in with which ever race types I decide to enter.

Its likely to be a FR car (2.5GT Supra perhaps) but I do like the Elise S1 190sport I had a play in last night so may have to do the MR races first.

I'll definitly be getting a Caterham as soon as possible though. Gotta be fun on the twisty circuits.

Cant wait for the LM cars and circuit, that is the best surprise about GT4 for me.
