So who's going to get GTR aswell?
Discussion
Not only is GT4 out today but GTR (www.simbin.com/games/gtr/) is out on Friday.
Given 90% by PC Zone and supposedly v realistic (i've only played the demo and the cars seemed a little too unstable though)
I think my girlfriend is going to leave me.

Unstable.....nah. It's a simulation so it's realistic, you might need to play with the setup though for personal taste handling.
Anyway, I've had it (ordered a copy from Germany - english translation pack) for 2 months or so now and it is great, plus there are loads of add-on circuits, new car liveries even a Formula Renault add-on already with an European Touring Car mod coming soon.
If that isn't enough to wet your apetite check this video out.

One of the best additional features of GTR is the fully analytical Motec system, just like the real teams use to analyse laps and look for improvements. Loads of features but here's one screen showing an overview of Spa with my braking zones/acceleration, gears and speed.
click on this, as it's too big for PH and gets resized. www.mercia.biz/SimBin/motec.jpg

the way things are going at the moment.. I'll be taking GT4 back, and getting GTR instead (was going to get both). It seems power-oversteer is non-existant in GT4 , and whilst I'm not the best at catching it in GTR, I have caught a few slides, and it makes you feel like a hero when you do!
Real GT cars don't power oversteer too much, these don't but you can adjust the setup to make them It's not the quickest way round but still fun. Now getting a front end slide and start of a tank slapper needing fast opposite lock on to save it at full throttle through the Craner Curves at Donington is something else
They've been treated with Rain-X
Have you seen the rubbish build up on the screen after a few laps?
PS....Good isn't it
Two very nice cars to drive (handling, noise...but not that quick) are the Gilette Vertigo & BMW. But I still like the GT power.
Did you copy come with the 24hour car pack already or do you have to download it from www.gtr-game.com ?
PPS Have you seen the Formula Renault single seater mod? Well the next one is almost ready, the ETCC Cars here - http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=198103
