Steam: It seemed such a great idea no fighting through the chavs at the local game store to get the latest game, an end to piracy and the developers ending up with the cash not some publisher.
But yet again I find that the servers are TOO busy for 24 hours and when I do get on them I've got to wait hours for a patch download....
Any one else having these problems?

Nope
Had no problems last night, went straight in and spent many happy hours shooting people

Steam is a piece of sh*t in my eyes. Not even Microsoft force you to download updates - they give you the choice!

Steam just starts at boot time and sits there hogging bandwidth without asking, until it's done. Downloading utter crap like "Codename Gordon". Wow thanks!

And the fact that I haven't been able to stop steam from automatically starting up everytime I boot up my PC, why on earth not? Why would I want steam on all the time just so I can occasionally play one bloody game

Anyone know a way to stop steam from automatically starting?

Rant over...
