PS2 - 'cos GT4 will be the dogs danglies and you know that the PS3 will have backwards compatability.

If cars are your thing PS2 is the way to go right now.

Xbox has PGR2, which is very very good but doesn't have the replay value of the Gran Turismo series.

Potential for modifying playstations is very limited if that sort of thing appeals to you.

Being in the position of owning both I'd say get both.

The XBox is probably the superior platform and has Halo (leave it, Brian) and the PS2 has the Gran Turismo games.

Since both are now marked down (an XBox is now £99 new) you could probably justify buying both for the price just one was only a year or so ago.

The X Box is the superior platform but the choice of games isn't as great as with the PS2... Having said that, there are some absolute crackers being lined up for release in the near future.
