and

There was a pinned thread (possibly not on gtplanet.net) that the mods were using to gather all GT4 video links together. Can't find it again tho'

Although I believe this is the best racing sim game in existence and I have the highest respect for it I have a few complaints that are rather annoying in such a good game.

I'm going to wait to post them so you fellas in England can get a chance to play the game and I may be able to figure some of the quirks out in the meantime. It could be my fault for some of the issues.

It is really a fantastic game. Amazing graphics, cars, and it has the 'ring'!

Revisted GT3 for the first time in over a year last night. Couldn't drive to save my life at first, but eventually it all came back and myself and a mate spent 3 hours pounding the Vertigo race car round Laguna Seca to try and beat out previous best...out of practice though, as we could only get to within .7 of a second. Really frustrating when you have a killer half lap with best ever splits, then piss it all away (again) at the Corkscrew!

Personally, I think the racing aspect has been long since been overtaken by the sheer fun of trying to beat your lap times in marathon test sessions.

GT3 is not a sim.. anyone who's played GTR or GPL will tell you that..

whilst GT4's physics system has been re-done, and is supposedly a marked improvement.. I vary much doubt it's up there with GTR/GPL.

just take a look at GT3's low-speed handling.. it's abysmal(sp?)!!

anyway, doesn't detract from it being great fun! and it from what I've seen, the high-speed stuff must be pretty accurate as the game lap times seem to compare very well to the real thing....

will be interesting to see what those who have both GT4/GTR say, as there must be some cars that are available in both, and both have the 'ring...

What is GTR and GPL? It's true I don't follow the PC platform because I'm all apple now and I'm in the US. I have heard Sierra's GrandPrix had excellent physics and it is a pretty old game. I'm not familiar with these games and i should check them out .. . .

GTR is a true sim of GT racing, and is developed by a group (Simbin) that started out doing mods for GPL (at least I think it was GPL). I've only seen videos (my machine isn't powerful enough!), but it is VERY impressive and has by far the most convincing engine/gearbox noises I've ever heard.
GPL is Sierra's 'Grand Prix Legends', to give it it's full title.
