Xbox headset on PC?

I have a headset with Xbox live and would like to be able to use it on a PC for Skype etc.

Does anyone know if you can get an adaptor to convert it to USB for the PC or something?

Not heard of an adapter available, but the USB PC headsets are so cheap now on ebay (well under a £5), the adapter would probably cost you more than buying a new one...
