Can you get a smaller PS2 controller?

Can you get a PS2 controller that is smaller than the standard one? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Japanese ones are smaller than the ones we get over here, if that's right is there anywhere you can buy them?
The reason I ask is because I was trying to get the missus to have a go on GT3 so that she doesn't complain too much when I spend hours on GT4 from next week but the analogue stick is a bit too far into the centre of the controller for her to use comfortably.

Pretty sure you're thinking of the Xbox controllers which came in two sizes.

Sounds likely, I've got the smaller X-box one and it is much, much better. Not heard about a PS2 one though
