Couple of quick GPL questions

Just managed to get GPL installed on my new laptop, so I'm having to re-download everything I had on the old one. Couple of questions:

1)I heard mention a while ago of 1970s Sportscar mod (Porsche 917's, Lola T70s, Ferrari 512's etc). Any news on that, since that would make GPL perfect in my view?


2) Where can I get carsound.exe from? Can't seem to get to the old GPLEA website, and I need it to get the updated 1965 carsounds (when I get around to getting the 1965 carset of course. Have the link for that though)

Any news on when it will be finished? Is it in limbo or is whoever's doing it still working on it?

The person working on it (Mark Beckman) has recently moved to China (not sure why) but he says it is giving him more time to work on it. He is also putting togther with others the tracks missing from GPL that the CanAM cars ran on.
