Someone who is arrested for the crime of Grand Theft Auto kills three cops, and the game of Grand Theft Auto gets blamed?

This would be funny if the tosser didn't kill 3 cops.

After targeting gangsta rap's violent lyrics in the early 1990s, Thompson has spent the last half-decade railing against the perils of violent video games, which he refers to as "murder simulators

What a ing loser. Does he just spend his life campaigning against the next thing that comes into the media?

there was a piece on richard and judy about this not long ago, with some mp insistant that these games were the cause of all evil, and without them the world would be a better place - what a jerk he was, he wanted all violent games banned outright

what shocked me most on that site was this:

site said:
Two of the victims' next of kin have filed a lawsuit accusing the two GTA games as having "trained and motivated" Thompson to commit his crimes

it could have maybe motivated him, but trained? i doubt that

A recent Gallup Poll found that any American teen who has played this one game is twice as likely to be engaged in an act of violence than those who have not played this one game.

how many bloody people did they get to take the poll? it cant be accountable for all the goddamn american teens can it?

What a load of drivel.... I mean, targeting GTA and even Sony like that. Its cant of like getting a law suit against Pentel (pen maker) because one of their pens was used to write a racist statement....

As for training simulators? Well, I play 3d shoot 'em ups regularily. Does this mean that I can load, cock and shoot a real Glock 9M or AK47? No it bloody doesnt. To be honest I would know what one looks like, but thats about it... the rest is all beyond me....

The moral minority strikes again...cock...

Hello,

I just wanted to say that I am absolutely disgusted by your site and think it is absolute rubbish. How many people do you think own copies of these games and play them day in day out without causing any damage to society? I for one am one and I don't plan on stealing a car and running people over. I think it is incredibly stupid and ignorant that you think computer games are solely accountable for the incidents on your site, have you not taken into account mental deficiencies, or how the people were brought up? Do you not think that it might have been anything else but the game?
I don't understand how you can see games as being murder trainers, yes they do portray murder and allow you to murder people in a variety of ways, but do you not think that the holy body that allows games would have forbidden the production of such games if they completely influenced to kill people? I don't. Game are what they are, games, nothing more.

Your site is hugely biased towards your direction and is in no way impartial. If your view was widespread do you not think there would be other sites like this and that somebody would have taken games like grand theft auto off the market altogether?
Why haven't you targeted games like metal gear solid? they are based along the same lines as grand theft auto and yet you are not vowing to rid the world of these. I don't play these games because I am training for some mass killing rampage, I play them because the story lines are exciting and interesting, and they involve fantasy, the key thing is IT ISN'T REAL and doesn't imply that it is real. The game doesn't give brand names of weapons, or tell you how to get hold of a sub-machine gun, how to service and load it, or how to fire it effectively.

In my view this sort of thing could only happen in America, its Americans who have been brainwashed and try to find anything else to blame the problem on, this sort of thing doesn't happen anywhere else. I mean how many people die from rollercoaster's? After someone has been killed they don't ban all rollercoaster's because someone dies, its an isolated incident, just is the case of what you mentioned on your site.

And I think your comment about the poll on games and how anyone who has played them is twice as likely to commit violent crimes is completely BIASED and UNJUSTIFIED. I mean how many teens actually took the poll? My guess is not all American teens in America, and how many of those that took it do you think were messing around and not taking it seriously? My guess is more than 1

I don't understand how you can be so committed to banning something that gives many people much enjoyment, with people like you in a decade everyone will be playing games involving fluffy stuffed animals and bright colours.

I hope to hear a response from you.

Yours Faithfully,

Robert Kennedy

What a cock. Still doesn't bode well for his ability to argue in court (if it ever gets there)...

Why not reply and say "What, just like we had to kiss rap music goodbye thanks to your campaigning?"

Only in America!

It seems the gun culture of America strikes again. If there weren't so many of them about there would be half the problem.

And the guy must have had something wrong in his wiring you do that. A person in full control of themselves doesn't just grab a policemans gun while he's being charged and start shooting people.

You can't blame the game for the society. It's the way people are that's the problem.

As for the guy who's on the crusade to stop the video games. Hmmm, yes, like he'll succeed against corporate America... Nice reply too, really articulate in giving an unbiased point of view.
