Best Online racing game ?

ok, Just dusted my xbox down and trying to find out what the current best online driving game is ?
or is there a rival pc game worth checking out ?

For realism, degree of difficulty, and amazing online racing 'feel' it has to be Grand Prix Legends on PC.

The bonus being that there is already a PistonHeads online championship running every Tuesday evening. A new 'season' will be starting at the end of this month.

Project Gotham 2 is pretty good. I've only just hooked my Xbox up to the net and couldn't stop playing for days!!!

Toca 2 is a fantastic online racing game but forza is ment to be the hottest racing game which is out the end of March 2005

Don't think so, no official online support so you'll have to trick the PS2 into thinking its on a LAN (using xlink or similar) and apparently its not exactly latency tolerant... Not surprising as you expect LANs to be lag free

Where its been released it only supports arcade mode for LAN play too, so no career mode cars etc.

I bought Toca Race Driver 2 yesterday when i was in town, and i have to say its fantastic! especiallty the online mode. there is a real community on there, and some great characters! id say its well worth a look if you want some real opponents to play against

Yep, this is a brilliant game. My faves are the Seat Leon Supercopa and the DTM series.
