FF VII remake and The Last Guardian
Discussion
I always thought Square would do a FF7 remake after all else fails and they started losing money as it's guaranteed to bring in huge sums of money for them. So pleased at the announcement.
Sony have pretty much won this generation console war already with this. Will be getting this along with Fallout 4.
I predict a 2017 release though. Making it 20 years after the original. They should take their time with it as the original was so perfect expectations will be extremely high for it. I hope they don't go with an overly enthusiastic American voice actor for Cloud, part of the original charm was their was no voice acting, didn't like the voice actor in the FF7 film.

Wow that looks pretty good. I get that some people might not like changes to the combat system but to be fair, while it worked in the day, the old combat system would feel quite clunky these days and a purely turn based system would probably be a turn off and impact sales on such a high profile title.
Look at something like Mass Effect 3 for how an RPG type combat system can successfully be linked in with a more fluid live action system, I think it works perfectly and I'd be totally happy for them to take it in this direction.
For those who still have doubts, they have released the port of the original on PS4, it's the same version that was available on steam for PC a couple of years ago.

Seen some gameplay of TLG and it looks (visually) very impressive. Early complaints were clunky controls and awkward camera movement, do any of the reviews state if this has been improved with the final release?
My daughter was watching over my shoulder when I had Youtube open and she thought the griffin / dog / thing was really cute. I'd be a bit concerned about playing the game in front of her though as yesterday The Land Before Time reduced her to tears.
