Anyone know how and why CJ looses respect? Ive been doing missions, completed maybe 15 or so, but spend most of my time robbing people as its loads of fun

Anyone have a list of things which if done, loose you respect? My respect meter seems to have dropped.

Also, initially I would save the game and reload after a failed mission, but am not doing that any longer (after busted/wasted etc) as I build up pistol skills if I dont restart all the time.

Does this have any negative side effects?

I know you get respect for tatoos etc and perhaps tagging... maybe you are just losing respect because you are picking on innocent by-standers in 'da ghetto'

lol

Last time I checked, killing your "friends" was a big NO-NO

doing the missions gains respect, but if you stop doing them, they will start to time out and fade.

I didn't get much on the respect-o-mometer until I went back to the first island and started doing gang wars again.

Once you start taking over 'hoods, you're respect will sky-rocket

I maxed out my respect last night with a substantial gang war spree

Running respect is 40% of your total. Mission progress is 36%. Turf control is 6%, money is 6%, fitness is 4%, girlfriends are 4%, and clothes are 4%. Running respect is raised and lowered in these ways: Kill a drug dealer +.005% Kill a gang member +.5% Take over territory +30% Kill an OG member -.005% An OG member dies -2% Territory is lost -3%

Turf wars are by far the best way to raise respect quickly.

So now you know.

So how do you gain control over hoods? doing all the tags for the area? just going in there and killing as many enemy as you can find?

You need to start a gang war, by hitting an area and killing a group of gang members.
This will then lead to 3 waves of attacks by the local gang on you.

You survive 3 waves, the area is yours and you get cash at Grove Street.

I can't remember if you have to wait until a certain part of the game before you can do this tho'

the turf wars feature early on in the game, but there's no point doing them, as you lose them all and move to the other island.

when you get back to Grove street you can start again.

While you're on the top island, you do a mission for Woozie I think, where you parachute onto the roof of Mad Dog's crib and storm the place.

That becomes a place to do missions for James Woods, the last of which is getting your brother when he leaves jail. Then the turf wars can begin again.

If you've done the Harrier jump jet mission, and the Mancunian / cockney camper missions, you're not far off.

Man, that sucks!

When you move to another island, can you move from islandd to island at will, or are you stuck on the new island?

I started gang wars yesterday... you have to reach a certain stage (12% or so) and then you start dating denise and can take other territories which become colour coded on the map.

I got massif respekt chilling with ma niggas, we all packing da heat blastin the balla scum, ma homies done me proud - den we split and spent da evenin kicking it in OG loc's crib

The game gets better as it goes on, for sure. I cant wait to get my pilots license - when you have one, can you land anywhere? What is the hellicopter like to fly?

When you have new islands you can move back to any of the others (with a bit of a trek!). The bit in the country side is a pain though and that will be coming up soon.

When you have a pilots license you can indeed land anywhere, but you not getting that for a while yet. Helicopters are cool. Planes I dont really fly very well!

When you move to the next island, the old ones are still available. It's just that the storyline means you're not doing the gang / hood thing for a while.

Getting the pilot licence is great, makes getting around much quicker. Just fly over your target, jump out and skydive to your destination.

There's a Cesna type, a Lear Jet, a Mustang-esque WW2 fighter, a crop duster.

Helicopters: Normal Maverick type, small bubble type and a huge, slow Chinook type.

But best of all is the Harrier Jump Jet and the Bond style jet pack!

So how does the flying scene work? Re: owning, storing, parking your aircraft? Can you land the helli on any roof, do your business and come back for it later?

I dont know if anyone else knows this, but its possible to steal a plane at any time. I spent a long time making my way around the fences in the airport, found a wall which i used to climb onto a roof, then dropped into the airstrip and 10 seconds of running later was in a small light aircraft. Trouble was, it got me 4 stars or so, and I was blown out of the sky by a jet

How much farther (just started gang wars) till I can get my pilots license?

You only get the stars if you fly over locked areas or approach the marine base/ship.

You can fly around in the plane over los santos as long as you please. Once you hit 20% flying skill you are granted your licence.

You can effectively land anywhere although if you park to close to a building you can damage wings or rotors won't turn.

If you land ontop of a building be prepared for a long drop to the ground.

At some point you get an airfield, which spawns planes and has a hanger. Before that, you need to steal them

You acquire an abandoned airstrip after one of the missions. In there, you can do pilot school. When you pass all the licences, a plane spawns in an empty hangar at your airstrip.

If you've just started the gang wars, sounds like you got quite a way to go I take it only the first island is available to you?

Those 4 stars you got, was for flying over one of the other islands without unlocking it first.
