have a look at this demo.
It uses a special device that allows you to turn your head to change the view aso that you can look through a corner to always see the racing line..!!!!
It looks great

yes its the german version with a few patches for language and the spa patch (150mb!!)
my mate has the track ir pro with the add-on vector kit for even greater movement. They are a lot better than i had ever imagined, giving you the ability to see into the corner and fix on a turn in point or apex.
When funds allow it will be my next purchase for the PC
I have only played a multiplayer on a direct ip connection but it was real good.
I just hope plenty of mods are released by the modders with track and car updates

Oh, there are plenty of mod tracks already... and I think they're actually better (in terms of driving, not graphics) than the standard tracks.
There's even a street racing circuit around the British town of Hittchin, past Dixons, Cash Converters, Vodaphone and a chippy... it's quite fun!

Just got my "PS2-DualShock > USB" adaptor from Lik-Sang through the post today, so had another go at the GTR demo..
I had been, struggling, shall we say, with the keyboard...
Even with just analogue steering via the Dualshock, it's transformed!! I can actually string a few decent laps together!! AND recover slides (small ones anyway.. that Lister is a twitchy bugger!!)
Can't wait for the full game (and my steering-wheel!!)
