The question I'd like answered, first and foremost, is whether there is actually anything new in the gameplay dept?
By the time I got to GT3, having 'done' GT and GT2, I was finding the whole "buy a car, tune it, win races, build up money, buy and/or win other cars, gain licenses" repeated ad infinitem starting to get a little wearing. I lost interest in GT3 in the end and suspect that I might not be willing to invest the time and effort in GT4 unless something has fundamentally changes.

I believe the new one offers on line play,
and for me; LAN play, which means linking up multi PS2's round my mates house, twin input picture plasma, a few beers..
I even think 4 player multi games may be possible?
as for gameplay, there is now also a raceteam manager option, where you don't drive, but manage a team to win "seasons" by altering pitstop plans, tyre choice etc..

Officially LAN only, but can be kidded into working over the 'net.
Yes, there are some clever boffins in Japan playing over the net... well done for doing a job that Sony couldn't do themselves!

I think it's more to do with the complete lack of an "Xbox Live!" like service, or problems with latency over the internet, so Sony decided to disable the feature rather than have it be a disappointing experience.
As neat as the trick is, it's really not that significant, and certainly not beyond the capabilities of Polyphony Digital.
Now thats just not fair. Having those nice cars to play with is one thing but getting the best game in the world early? Thats just plain cheating!
Well done Adam, have fun learning the 'ring
BTW: The official GT4 site has now been released with lots of the info on it. Might save you answering a few peoples questions!

To save stealing the idea from the person that found it first...

Cheers mate...
Straight to "car list"
Well it's not right! It doesn't have Nacnuds SEAC listed like it's meant to, neither Caterhams or Seat Leon Cupra R's like it's meant to!

Good point, I almost forgot about Caterhams. I was looking forward to that bit too.
Shame the Griff has gone, used to enjoy power sliding that around the complex string.

Adam, what dvd region does the GT4 from play asia play on? The Euro one of the American one?
A wild guess but I'd say the Asian one?
I mean NTSC vs PAL
my ps2 can play asian games go it doesnt matter, just gotta figure if its compatible with my tv or not.

Ah, fair enough! I'm pretty sure Asian PS2s are NTSC... Personally I'm going to avoid the import version since I don't read Japanese too well!
