Anyone in the market for a handheld multimedia system should definitely hold fire for a PSP.

I'm Tokyo based at present and managed to get hold of one last week (rocking horse sh*t springs to mind), without paying a premium - so around 130GBP fot the value pack which includes case, headphones, remote, strap, 32Mb Memory Stick. Basic unit is 100GBP.

Only have Ridge Racer at present but it's truly amazing - screen quality and graphics are awesome. Graphics easily a match for the PS2 and this is the first game released, so iy will get better.

It plays mp3s, can store photos and, with a bit of fiddling, will even play movies (these will also be released on the UMD disks). Have therefore also bought a bigger memory stick to allow more playing.

It's even got a proper wifi connection which works very easily!!

Great toy, and a much higher quality feeling unit than the Nintendo DS.

You won't be disappointed when you do get one.

I wouldn't be paying a premium for one though - in 6mths or so they'll be mainstream. Plus there'll be a much healthier games scene out there.

If there was stock I'd happily start supplying them, especially at the prices some people seem willing to pay on eBay! Crazy!!

Sadly they're in short supply even here. I was incredibly fortunate to get this one (was literally just walking down the street when I noticed a guy handing vouvhers out for them - went to the counter, handed over my 26kYEN and away you go).

If I should find a source for more before I leave, I'll bag some.
