WOW! GT4 looks better each time there's more info about it and screenshots from it.

tbh im disappointed, the Cars list - though not complete - lacks a few cars I was hoping would make it (Rarris/ Lambos/ factory pork)

Also, what happened to all the tracks that are meant to feature in the game?? Granted whats there is pretty amazing stuff - but I kinda expected alot more?

700+ cars and the man is disappointed, some people will never be happy.

With regard to the tracks the list on the US site is far from complete, keep expecting a lot more, 50+ tracks are expected.

You should take a look at the UK site
www.granturismoworld.com/index_en_GB.html

The Japanese site also contains a more detailed listing of both cars and tracks, I can't find the link atthe moment, but will put it up ASAP

iirc, EA hold the licenses to use the ferrari and porsche names. They wont sell it to sony, so GT4 wont have them

Who gets to say which cars are included in the game, the developers or the manufactures?

Im not sure who picked the Citroen line-up, as it is crap! C5, Xantia and C3 1.6. Wow cant wait to get my hands on them!!

Plus 650 cars, 20+ of which are Skylines!! Sorry but im not that much of a Car Geek!

GT4 was released in Japan yesterday (28th Dec) - Lots of info to be found over at GT Planet, but the servers are taking a bit of a hit.

It was due out before Christmas (24th?) in the US. Shops were taking orders when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

what resolution is this game running in.?

PS2 graphics are normally total pants, so have they developed some form of "hi-res" mode???

Im really impressed with the screenshots, but having had a PS2/xbox/PC for so long I just cannot see how it can be done...

I thought the Graphics in GT3 were total crap too.
Will Gt4 be that much better??

Yeah, I mean, the graphics in GT3 were just soooo bad, weren't they?

Err, are you mental by any chance? Did you not notice the superb gameplay and fantastic handling of the cars in the game? A small trade off (and it IS only small compared to the 3 grand PC) in graphics for sucha great game isn't that much to put up with, in my opinion. There isn't a game to touch it on either PC or X-box (and don't tell me PGR1 or 2 was on a par, they're not).

This is from the Japanese version of the game . . . . Apparently. (Cars will be added to this list as far as I know as I dont think it includes hidden cars)

=====================================

Interestingly smart are nowhere to be seen. Yet I've read many interviews and statements that clearly listed them as included (City coupe, Cabrio & Roadster). I was quite looking forward to tuning up a Roadster and hitting the 'Ring

Edited to add:

Also note there is no Vauxhall listed, yet I have heard they are also in the game. So expect the uk list to be slightly different in places (happened with GT3).

what resolution is this game running in.?

PS2 graphics are normally total pants, so have they developed some form of "hi-res" mode???

Im really impressed with the screenshots, but having had a PS2/xbox/PC for so long I just cannot see how it can be done...

I thought the Graphics in GT3 were total crap too.
Will Gt4 be that much better??

WTF are you on about.

All the crap looking PS2 games out, GT3 was stunning, GT4 looks even better and stuff like Killzone are amazing for a 4 year old game platform.

Get a grip.

Just watched a clip of the Skyline on the ring and the track looks smaller compared to PRG2. 2 cars side by side max on the GT4.

If you are used to PC games, PS2 games look total shite.Xbox games are just about bearable.
Thats why im wating for Pc GTA san andreas...

I play halflife 2/counterstrike at 1600x1200 at over 60fps.

Sounds like snobbery, but the problem is Pc graphics do spoil you.
And yes i did think GT3s graphics are shite, not because of the game, but just because the PS2 isnot capable of high res displays.

???
Granted it's not perfect, (no anti-aliasing, wierd mip-mapping artifacts etc) but "total crap"? I don't think so.

And your TV can't do high-res anyway.
