Anyone know where they can be bought?
Seems that everywhere is out of stock. Im getting worried now, was looking forward to getting one after Xmas.
Please some one update me as to any shop that has stock.
If its a high street store then just ones in the South (near Hampshire) please.

Adam...

Have you tried Chavgos stores..IIRC you can pre order or book online now...

Or you can check if the store has any..?

Might be worth a go.

The video shop up the road seems to have a large pile of them in the window...

Well its either a conspiracy to keep the prices up or the Sony guy talking about a suez cannal problem holding up the delivery ship is true..

I have more or less promised the little one a PS2 for Christmas, and went to buy one about a week ago - none to be had.

Went into Game this Saturday, and they had obviously taken a delivery as they had about three left. I was assured that there wouldn't be any more anywhere before Christmas, so I bought one.

Only thing was, instead of just being the PS2 on its own, they were selling it as a bundle, two controllers, DVD remote, any three games, and memory card...for £235. Which is about twice as much as I had in mind.

Have I just been fleeced, or are there really not going to be any more available anywhere?

There were some around but they are few and far between and sell out as soon as they come in.

I think that bundle deal you got is OK. You would only have had to buy the controllers and games later anyway. The console is not much use on its own!

If you aren't looking for Xmas presents then its easier to wait till after Xmas now.

You'll struggle to get one now for xmas without paying a significant premium.

Not too worried, slim one would be nice though.
In no rush so will look after Xmas.

As long as I have one by Feb 1st (The most recent suggested GT4 release date).

I've got the previous PS2 model, it is still in the box, 2 controllers, eye toy and 'some' games. I bought it last year thinking it would keep me entertained whilst I recuperated from an operation, I used it for one afternoon.

If you're interested I'm looking to sell it.

One afternoon? I find PS2 WRC addictive although not to the same extent as wine and chocolate! It's weird though, my performance on the time trials tends to improve after a glass or two...
