Repairing a PS2

Hi, im getting the dreaded read errors again and the grating noise as the head jumps about.

Now i've had it fixed once. about 6 months ago.. is the fix somthing i can do myself and if so what needs to be done..

failing that anyone need to buy a couple of sony lcd projectors as i can get a free slimline psc with each one i buy at the mo...

Didn't work.

Tried strong language...
Didn't work.

Tried insulting its parentage...
Really didn't work.

Went out and bought new slimline PS2...
