I have played this for about 2 hours, and found it very enjoyable(its not my copy though). Barrying up a 106 and thrashing it around a (bigish) city environment is a lot of fun. The sound is spot on. Its sounds just like being on Yeovil High Street on a Friday night.

Anyone else played it yet? What do you think?

I got it yesterday and like the whole "drive to a race" but it's quick becoming tedious, although it's fun racing against other cars in the city and the like.

IMO it would be better if you could sell old cars or they released more RWD cars nearer the start

Are you having a laugh?!

This is one of the best games ever (apart from GTA:SA). Its so much bigger than the last one and has more cars - which all sound different!!

I like the idea of having to find all the upgrade shops, although its annoying when you have to go to one place to buy the car, another to tune it, another to put body kits etc on it and yet another to paint it!

I also like the tuning bit where you can put it on a dyno and adjust the settings.

At the moment I am 38% complete and have a near 300bhp Corsa which does 0-60mph in 2.86 seconds!!

no no, not the game, the game is great but as you say the bit about driving from x to y to z... is quickly becoming tedious.

Plus I wish the other cars in the game (the traffic) looked a bit better

Perhaps we could get them to do you a special version with lots of straight roads, and the speed limited to 55mph

That is the only downfall of this game - you have to change the way your machine looks to gain "respect" in order to progress.

However, it is possible to make very subtle cars (albeit with hyrdalics...).

As you say, it can be quite subtle but you can make some beauties as well by being more "extreme." Besides, when you've got a Nissan 240 you can't really make it look too much worse.

I'm about 50% through the game now and am about to put it down and forget about it completely.

I find it entirely annoying how cars seems to drive in front of your car when you are on the lead in the last lap, how the other cars have an elastic band catch-up mechanism... For all the nice touches the game has, it's bloody annoying!

Plus of course, the fact that if you modify your first car, and keep doing so, it's better than all other cars that are subsequently available. Hyundai faster than a Mitshubishi 3000GT, Nissan 350Z... I think not!

Nearly at the end of the game and my 106 is still winning. Not in the drag races, but the rest are still easy. RX-7 is the fastest i the game i think. You could try one of them. I dont think they will catch up with you in that.
