PS2 Racing games

Whats the best ps2 driving game, I would like to get one track game and one rally game any ideas please

probably can't go wrong with colin mccrae 04 - its pretty good as a rally game. 05 is due so its probably worth waiting for that though.

05 has been out for a few weeks. Much better than 04

Gran Turismo 3, has both race and rally. Huge selection of cars.

GT4 is due out in Feb and promises to be even better, and may even include some PHers cars

By all accounts CM5 is nothing more than a re-work of CM4, which in turn is a remake of CM3. They are a great "arcade" style rally game, with superb detailing and graphics etc.

If on the other hand you want a rally simulation then "Richard Burns Rally" is in a league of its own. Ok the car rendering is a bit poor, the menus a bit illogical and flaky and there aren't as many cars or rallies to choose from, but the "physics" of the driving simulation is incredible.

It takes an age to master it, but once you get to grips with it all the others seem like toys!

Burnout 3:Takedown is the best driving game on the PS2 IMHO. You'll never drive this fast on any other game plus you get to smash other cars into walls/trucks/over cliffs etc. It's a total rush and very addictive

I got a bargain last week, picked up a pre owned game for a fiver, it was toca driver. Great game, it covers british touring cars, dtm, aussie V8 and loads of other classes. all the tracks are brilliant and all for just £4.99

Result!!
