Help!!!

Bought a genuine copy of GTA San Andreas from "Gamestation" just over a week ago for my youngest son aged 15, and my big footed clumsy arsed 18 year old has tripped over the PS2 cable, causing the machine to fall on the carpet....

Fortunately, the PS2 is OK, but there is now a small scratch on the disc, about 10mm from the outside edge, meaning the machine will not read it......

So, is it 30 odd quid up the swannee, or do you think if I return the game to Sony with a grovelling letter they may take pity on me and replace it.....

I have the original purchase receipt.....

Thanks guys

Sony might replace it, but they will more than likely charge you for the pleasure.

You may have better chance with GameStation saying it was damaged in the Post, but I fear a week is too long a time.

Best answer, if you can afford it, is to sod the £30 and buy another copy.

Have a look at the back of the manual for instructions. Dunno about GTA, but all Electronic Arts games have a replacement policy for damaged discs. I replaced a damaged SSX disc once for free (or possibly £10, but I'm pretty sure it was free).

If you bought it for your Son for his birthday, he'll have only just opened it now.

Doesn't gamestation have a 'polishing' service where they take scratches out.

More to the point, you do realise this is not really a "15" game?

Agree. Take it back, you bought it for your (18yo!) son for his birthday, he's opened it yesterday, tried to play it and the disk is scratched. New disk please. As long as you have a receipt, not much they can do.

Quote the Sale of Goods act if they complain.

you mean the one with the kind of spinning flap thing? ive heard they work rather well, though, do bear in mind, like any doctor they can only heal the sick, not resurrect the dead. light scratches should be fixable tho.
