Highly anticipated racer won't make it to Europe for holidays; Sony cites
localization difficulties.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe confirmed to the UK press today that Gran
Turismo 4 will not be released this year in Europe. The realistic racing sim
is now scheduled for the first quarter of 2005. SCEE blamed the delay on
localization difficulties, because it is currently preparing 13 different
language versions of the game for release across the EU. According to what
Sony execs said at the Tokyo Game Show 2004 this past September, the game's
online mode was removed so that the racer could make its scheduled 2004
release in Japan and the US.

So if they removed the online function to make the 2004 deadline (which they're going to miss), why don't they take their time and make it online compatible????

lazy ass computer programmers.

I spent about £100 getting my ps2 online specifically for this game.

So how long, exactly have Sony had to make delays a thing of the past?, After all, the Sony Playstation has only been going for a decade!! You would have thought that any localisation difficulties would have been ironed out by now

absolutely not a hope in hell's chance!

GT is Sony's baby.. after the ammount of money (and the delays!!) they've ploughed into it, they will never release it to Microsoft..

unless you look out the window and see a pig flying over a frozen hell....

I wouldn't have thought so, but Forza Motorsport will be out at the same time as GT4... being hailed as a true rival..

Preview code at recent exhibitions has been slated for poor handling and framerate issues. They need to do some serious work to it apparently, so I wouldn't bet on it hitting any release dates.
