GTR Web site launched

Racing simulation game weeks away from launch

As of today 10tacle Studios’ and SimBin Development Team’s upcoming racing simulation title GTR, gets its own official Web site.

GTR fans over the world will, said SimBin, be able to find everything they need in terms of features, news, FAQs and game pictures. News will follow progress on the game itself as well as the Get Real Centre on tour and report from any race, game convention or fair where GTR is represented.

"It feels good to come up with something new now when we are closing in on the release of GTR. The site will still be developing and will probably show up with some changes as we go on. But first and foremost, being the official site of GTR, the site will be the new base for all information about the game", marketing director Johan Roos explained.

The place to RE>>>FUEL

Soon, one of the main functions of the website is of course that this will be the place for gamers to pick up added value packs and other additional features – it will be the place to RE>>>FUEL. The first online added value pack will be the Spa 24 Hours with extra cars like Lamborghini Diablo GTR, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Porsche 911 BiTurbo, Vertigo Streiff, Mosler MT900 and Seat Toledo and additional game features for this race.

About GTR

GTR is a new GT Championship racing simulation for the PC, described by its creators SimBin Development Team as "ultra-realistic", and is soon to be released by German publisher 10tacle studios. The game is based on the FIA GT Championship racing series and includes all the cars and drivers from the 2003 season as well as the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa race.

Developed and tested by the FIA GT drivers using actual racing telemetry data from the featured teams, SimBin claims that "GTR will deliver the most realistic driving experience the world has seen to date." GTR is due for release on November 2004.

Unless its for PS2 I'm not interested. Certainly not going out and buying an X-box either - looks good though.

Will additional features be available to XBox users as well as PC users?

I'm wondering whether to ditch the XBox and just wire the PC up to the telly.

First screenshot is an odd one to put on that site - it shows up some holes in the graphics...

Only the front right wheel, the bonnet has been knocked off. :-)

PS. I think it's PC only, might be wrong though,

Xbox and PC have far superior graphics just due to the hardware architecture. The scary thing for Sony is that all the current Xbox games only use the Xbox graphics chip up to about half of its potential. I've reviewed plenty of cross-platform games for magazines (when I say 'plenty' I'm talking of around 80).

I haven't played it yet, but from the screenshots it doesn't look like it's pushing the boundaries towards pixel perfection.

I did, however, just play Outrun2. I had flashbacks of the arcades on Skegness pier.

Naff graphics and small number of cars. It can stay on Xbox for all I care. Some of the track descriptions are lifted right out of Moto GP3.

Must try harder!

It's based on the real life GT Racing series and has all the cars involved in it.

Great graphics do not a good game make, great gameplay and driving model do which is what this has. The graphics are good btw, the static images do not do it justice.

anyway I see nothing wrong with the graphics - http://forum.rscnet.org/showpost.php?p=1989015&postcount=1

Graphics look fine to me too.

I'm more interested in the physics. The demo was good too.

Really? I'm surprised at this. It's some sort of nVidia variant isn't it? If I recall it's the equivalent of a geForce 2. So how can it be that much more powerful?
