Some new screenshots have been released; it's looking mighty impressive.

What with this and ARMA 3, looks like finally a decent time to upgrade the old machine.

I didn't get in this but I might give it another go. Even though I hate forced 3rd person perspective.

I played the 1st one and never got into it so missed the 2nd one. There seems to be a lot of hype around this one though. If its in the steam summer sale may have to purchase
The second one is a big improvement on the first; in fact it has a decision halfway through which means you can actually pay two separate second halfs. This looks like it will bring my PC to its knees, however.

I'll be getting it, thought I won't be getting my hopes up, as Witcher 2 was pretty dull.
I'd be cautiously optimistic. The developers seem to have put some effort into making the game fun and enjoyable, quite the opposite of what the Witcher 2 was like. I read some interviews where the developers added that they were responding to criticism of the Witcher 2, as below:"The Witcher 2 is supposed to be about a badass monster hunter, where are all the monsters?"
- This element appears to have been expanded upon greatly, with a greater variety of monsters, which now free roam in the open world eco-system.
"The Witcher is boring, and most of the game is spent trudging round that st army camp"
- It's now open world, and greatly expanded in scope. The story is no longer force fed to you in massive swathes, and pacing has been improved so you feel like you're playing a game, rather than an interactive book.

Still have Witcher 1 and 2 in my steam collection - un-played. Might work my way through them first - by then number 3 should be on sale New trailer. Possibly NSFW if your company has a stance on video game nipples...

I am so tempted by this... probably need a 980 though.
