Anybody connected their PS2 to broadband wirelessly? If so, how have you done it? Is the Linksys 54g Wireless Game adapter worth £60?

I've done it using that very gadget + the 54g Wireless router from Linksys. It's a fantastic piece of kit, never had any sign of lag, fairly easy to set up and sits very neatly next to the ps2.

It gets a little tecchie, setting the thing up, but there's some useful info on the uk playstation forums. Basically you give the playstation a static IP, and in the router make that a DMZ, which routes all gaming traffic to the bridge.

If you get one, and get stuck setting it up, let me know...

Thanks mate.

Here's an interesting problem though, my flatmate and I have a PS2 each, in different lounges and we'll both want to be able to play online against each other and our other mates. If we set up the way you described with the DMZ, will the router be able to cope with TWO?

I think you'll be able to give the router 2 IP addresses (one for each ps2) and have them both as DMZ's.

There's also a "head-to-head" mode on that linksys bridge, so you can play your flatmate, without having to log on.

So no firewall on the PS2?

What if someone hacks it and puts warez on your memory card
