Burnout 3 : Takedown
Discussion
velly velly good..
not the kind of game you can play for hours (unless multiplayer), but awesome fun none-the-less..
makes you feel like an absolute god when you finally get through the course avoiding the numerous pillars etc at full boost doing 200mph+
unfortunately after a while your eyes will start to bleed from the frenzied concentration required to see where the hell you're supposed to be going!!
while you're waiting for GT4, it's a good'un to keep you occupied/entertained!
p.s. road-rage is the best bit.. take out as many cars as you can in a certain time.. just think of them as the numtpies you had to follow to work this morning..

Agree, this game is very good indeed.
Tried a challenge with the "Euro Racer" (F1 car/Indy car cross). . . 210mph in heavy traffic on the wrong side of the road is quite hard
"Aftertouch" is also superb.
For those that havent bought it yet, Aftertouch is a system that allows you to slow down time and steer your crashing wreck into any nearby opponents there by taking them out in your accident. It all happens in super slow motion and it is pretty hard at times to get the "Aftertouch Takedown" but so so satisfying when you do.

I am liking this game a lot. Played number two to death, but this is in another league totally. Usually struggle to get into it for a bit, but then suddenly "zone in" and turn into a
Hammondesque driving God. Best bit is when you're tuned into things and so concentrated on avoiding crashes on full boost at idiot mph that you get a sort of tunnel vision / slowing down of time thing going on. All that AND wrong side of the road, near miss drifting lunacy too! Splendid.

Whats it like on Xbox Live?
Shockingly bad. It's EAs version of Live and quite simply, it doesn't work.
I've heard about this.
They use there own servers dont they? There was talk of having to pay for it...
The new FIFA 2005 is suppose to be on live, I dont hold up much hope then...
Today i will mostly playing Burnout 3
Great game.....ideal stress relief from a Sh1tty day at the office ,with added BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST !
okay it 'aint a 'proper' driving sim, but it sure is fun! hitting a camper van or numpty cop car is highly theraputic.........
....i can now drive my 'real' TVR at brisk rather than foolhardy speeds to relieve stress
