Thought we could maybe get a challenge going. I wanted to keep it real simple so here's the gig.

Platform: PS2
Driving Wheel: Optional but please state if used
Steering Assist: Simulation
Car: Toyota Yaris
Tyres: Whatever you can afford
Gears: [auto|manual]
DIL: Driver Intoxication Level
Level: Beginners
Track: Yaris Race -> Laguna Sega
or: GT World Championship -> Laguna Sega

Post your fastest 1st & 2nd lap.
No qualifying you must start at the back of the grid.

If it gets exciting/tight then maybe we can swap car settings

Edited to say: If this takes off at all I'll put up a bottle of champers for the winner after we agree a time period for the end of season.
Times must be proved by way of the memory card replay so if you do a quick one save it!

More editing to say - Race in the GT World Championship if you like having cars to follow, and also please state gear change method

In a Yaris?

Couldn't you think of a more boring car? I tried getting a lap time but nodded off half way round.

Come off it - the Yaris is a great little car and if properly setup it's a dream round that circuit!

Secondly by picking such a low performance car you're technique need to be good and it doesn't exlude anyone who may have only just got the game.

Plus if you can't stay awake for the three minutes it should take you to get round - well..... what hope?

Intersting great car eh? I've probably done that race in an effort to get 100% and forgotten about it. Might give it a try tonight.

Can't we start a PH challenge with the Vertigo Race Car? that's my favourite

I thought i would have a go. There is loads of room for improvement on this lap time, but i got a bit fed up with the slow and dull Yaris. Still i might have another go tonight.

Wheel: Dual Shock Controler
DIL: 2 Cups of Tea
Tyres: Racing Super Soft
Car Settings: Wouldnt you like to know!!

Lap 1: Not sure 1 min 37 odd
Lap 2: 1:29.153

Better times to come if i can be arsed!!!

Are we allowing any mods?

This will be a welcome respite from Midfield Raceway...

I had fun doing this, but it looks like Im the only one. I think this challenge needs to be spiced up a little. A faster car would do!!! The PGR2 challenge has a nice F360 and its on fire(not the car)!!

P.S. We should have a Nurburgring challenge when GT4 comes out!!

I've only just seen this thread, I rarely come in here. I thought you lot were really good until I read mods were allowed

I'll post after it's set up.

If we want a more difficult challenge, why not a TVR challenge? Maybe a standard Tuscan or Griff.

Indeed, more spice required.

suggest this:

RX7 RS with all the toys (~700bhp)
All driver aids off (inc traction & stability control)
simulation tyres
Apricot Raceway

that's at least something that really requires DRIVING!!
