Not really posted in this section before but PH is usually best for most advice. I have a bit of spare time/no money this weekend so thinking of renting a PS3 game to while away some of the hours. Now I tend to dip in and out of playing them, probably complete 1 or maybe 2 a year, so needs to keep me interested.

Games I've enjoyed in the past have been pretty much of the same genre-ish so shouldn't be too hard but there's loads to choose from. You'll get the picture with this short list:
Skyrim
Deus Ex
Deus Ex HR
Fallout 3 and New Vegas
and being PH, Gran Tourismo, Forza etc for a curveball.

A good story is more important than all out action but I enjoy that too. Not too big a fan of futuristic stuff but could be swayed.

So, are there any standout games I should try?

Over to you PH...

Are those games you've played or games you're thinking about trying?

They are games I've played and really enjoyed.

And to the sugestions, I've actually played read dead and la noire before, I just found them a bit repetitive I.e 'drive/ride here, shoot this/chase this guy, drive back and repeat. Sorry to throw that one out there...

If you like Deus ex you might want to pick up dishonored. It came out last week and is very much that type of game.

+1 for dishonered.

Have yet to play it, but from the games listed above, will be right up your street. Also has some great reivews and high ratings from everywhere.

Mass Effect?
If you start at the first of 3, its cheap as hell now, and all 3 games will last you a good while. Fantastic story, and the gameplay improves with each title
I know the futuristic stuff is a no no, but the story is worth it!

Thinking of others, what about The Witcher 2?
Decent story, tough gameplay, but will last a while
This. Sure sci-if might not be your thing but the story takes you in. The first two will be dirt cheap and even the third wont be too expensive. An easy 60 hours playtime for all in, maybe more with DLC.

Wow, like you said it looks right up my street. I like the whole Victorian-style thing too.

Think ill give this one a go then try mass effect next.
