Hi

I just purchased, ebay, a twin Sega Le Mans 24 arcade machine. Looking to restore to a condition that gets wife approval so they can come into the house, plus add a console to each to play additional racing games. Which console is best for twin play games (linked games). PS3, Xbox ?

Regards

Ian

Wow...

Forza 4 would work great in that setup. And if you could replace the internal projector with 3 flatscreens each could have the multiscreen setup for Forza.

If you prefer Gran Turismo however you could just look at how they did it for the GT Academy

I think, but not certain, that you can run two xboxes on the same network, so could do it like that?

You could probably make them work, but if not it might be possible to take the original ones out and replace them with ones that will...

I'm pretty sure I can hack the wheel/pedals and gear shift to work.
Screens are currently 29" CRT's.
Would like to get a good bass or similar in each seat.

Is Forza better than the PS3 GT series of games?

Is MAME / PC set up worth looking at?

Cool, how much did it cost you? Fully working?

Cool smokinloads of possibilities with that.
I would start with 2 PS2s, a network cable, 2 copies of GT4 and two G25 wheels. (GT4 has a link race mode for this kind of racing.) That would mean the original screens could be used whilst getting it up and running with the pedals and wheels, keeping costs down. Then later upgrade to either PS3 or PC with hdmi screens, rumble pads, surround sound etc etc

Picked it up for £600 smile

Only aware of 2 issues, Player 2 seat speakers not working, now fixed, and force feedback wheel a little weak on Player 1 (still needs investigation)

Requires a good clean!

Mmm, so many options. Does the Xbox link with a cable for twin racing or via network switch or via the Internet? PS3 is a link cable like the PS2?
Not that familiar with modern gaming, coming over from pinball machines, but have lots of memories of sega rally and Daytona.

The newer consoles don't like direct linking so much - but depending on the resolution of those screens I reckon something like the original Forza or FM2 would look pretty decent.

GT5 can link consoles to turn them into extra screens, i know because i used 5 and 5 tvs to make a cockpit view, it can also do play over LAN which would mean you could just link the 2 up, a bonus would be if you gave them internet access, then games like F1 2012 etc would be bloody awesome!

My suggestion would be to change to a steering wheel that has good compatibility with both consoles. I think that is the Fanatec? That way when the next consoles come out you could upgrade as you see fit.

I have only seen the 360 system linked. Forza is by far more interesting in this setup than GT5. GT5 is good if you want to have 800 versions of a Skyline.

Dirt3 would be great fun on your rig, too.
