PS Vita Price drop?

Has anyone heard if there is likely to be a price drop for the PS Vita in 2012?

One of the staff in GAME seemed adamant there would be, yet reports online state that Sony will not be reducing the price until they can reduce the production costs.

I was quite shocked to see a ps vita on the cash generator website for 129.99 has now gone just before payday

I expect my son will be impressed on his birthday next month.
