I have seen on e-bay that one of the sellers is saying that GT 4 will be released at the end of October. How true is this? (it's about bloody time though)

That's the first time the release date had got nearer! Pre-ordered mine in May (of LAST year), and have been watching the release date get further away ever since (it was Dec 26th '04 for a while)

Good point. But something must have made Amazon bring the date forwards.

Edited to add:

And I think I now know what. Konami's 'Enthusia' is due towards the end of November (according to Amazon), and is aiming to take GT's crown. Lets hope Polyphony aren't cutting any corners to get GT4 out first.

SCEE has the launch date for GT4 down as Quarter 4 2004, nothing more specific, but late Nov/Early Dec would be my best guess.

Enthusia is not out this year, Konami's site does not even give a release date (all TBC), but one of the press releases states sometime in 2005.

I'm pretty sure that you'll start hearing some news after the Tokyo Game Show in September.

Usually, if a game is being released, it'll start being heavily hyped in magazines approx 2-3 months before it hits the stores. So if it's unquestionably coming out for xmas, I guess we'll know around the start of October.

Forza motorsport is coming out soonish for for the xbox, so i'd imagine GT4 won't want to be to far away from that.

if its a game for the N.A market, then that tends to get released for beginning of Nov for thanks giving, like Need for Speed Underground 2 for example.

I've also been told December, and I work in the games industry too

I got a Call From BMW yesterday.

My "1 series Virtual Drive disc" is in the post WOO HOO.

*For those that havent heard of this its a promotional 'tool' for the 1 series that allows you to test the cars handling by driving a 116 or a 120D using the Gran Turismo 4 engine. Two tracks are included, one of which is the old 'Ring !!!! All 14miles of it !!!! (You only get 1 lap at a time, but hey, thats at least 10mins lol)

Oh I cant wait . . . . . . .

Speak to your local dealer John.

Its taken me a few weeks to get this close to getting hold of the disc to be honest.

(In fact I had pretty much given up only to get a call out of the blue from the pleasentyoung sales lady to tell me she was putting a copy in the post)

At the moment they are only giving these disc's out on promotional weekends/days (Saleslady got mine from Rockingham on Friday just gone). Rumour has it is that this disc will be available from dealers after Sept. 18th.

Heres a review of the 'Ring as featured to wet your appitite. . . .

Heres a nice selection of Galleries on GTPlanet (check out some of the images in the 'Photomode' album. . .
