Forza 4 online is one of the worst online experiences i have ever had on a game as of yet. There are so many bugs in the system now that i may have to stop my membership at the end of the three month subscription to Xbox live!

1. Connecting to and leaving lobbies is outrageously slow, it sometimes takes over a minute just to join and i'm not really convinced it's my internet connection being slow.

2. After you've spent a minute joining you are presented with the message 'waiting for players to finish' which can usually take a very long time, i find i'm normally waiting around 4-10 minutes to play. Surely Turn10 can make multiple lobbies to speed up waiting times?

3. If you've finally found a race to play then that's great, however there's always some prick in a massive Hummer who's smashing you out the way just for the fun of it and repeatedly doing it until you leave. Absolute wkers! Where's the report button? Why isn't there an option to kick a player while in a game?

4. The next problem is not just online but all the time. There's nothing worse than starting a race and then realising you've left the traction control turned off! Can't you adjust the driver aids mid race?

5. I've seen a recent thread dedicated to this point, whenever you are in the marketplace there will be a message which appears as you try to go back which tells you that the action failed or something like that, then it chucks you out back to the main menu.

6. In single player quick race there is no option to set the number of laps which i think is stupid really!

Come on Turn 10!! We need some fixes!! ranting

7. Multiclass races suddenly changing your group at the last second, so after waiting 4-10 minutes to race you end up with a standard uncompetetive car. irked

8. This one's a bit picky but when you're doing a burnout you really do expect some more smoke to come off the wheels!! And it's not even realistic..... frown

This, it's the only way forward.

Unfortunately there isn't anything to do about your first point, Xbox Live went down for a couple of hours the other night and since then a few of us have been having the same problem. Trying for half an hour to get into a lobby, only for the game to freeze and force you to back out to the dashboard or restart is quite annoying.

Go try Gran Turismo 5. You will have a lot more fun*

The smoke thing has got better since the first games, the only game I've played with decent smoke effects was Race Driver Grid, if you did a doughnut or burnout you couldn't see until you moved off, usually into a crash because you couldn't see hehe

You still haven't accepted my friend request Rob tongue out

I tried to accept the club invite but Forza threw up an error, don't suppose we could try that again?

I've some more to add.....

- I'm not entirely sure if this is just impatience but when i create my own lobbies no one ever to joins and i'll have waited at least ten minutes.

- Freezing, as suggested by Big Fat Fatty. Extremely frustrating but luckily Forza 4 doesn't take too long to reboot from the dashboard.

-There's no timer on the bidding screen of the auction house; the screen where you view the car up close.

Once we've got the problems list a bit bigger i'll email it to Turn 10 and see what they've got to say about it. smile

When you have that message you are waiting for the other people to finish racing in that lobby you joined, nothing can be done about that.

Learn how to do this.

The driver aids you select determine the credits you receive at the end of the race. Traction control slows you down massively anyway.

Happened to me last night, soo annoying, ended up turning it off after half an hours worth of trying.

Seems it's happened to many others as well.

This is still being worked on by Turn10, as far as I am aware. It is the same for everyone, but if you want to play then it just takes a little patience.

2. After you've spent a minute joining you are presented with the message 'waiting for players to finish' which can usually take a very long time, i find i'm normally waiting around 4-10 minutes to play. Surely Turn10 can make multiple lobbies to speed up waiting times?
This is because the people in the lobby you have joined are racing at the time you joined. You'll simply have to wait until their race has ended before you can then join in. Fairly straightforward really.

3. If you've finally found a race to play then that's great, however there's always some prick in a massive Hummer who's smashing you out the way just for the fun of it and repeatedly doing it until you leave. Absolute wkers! Where's the report button? Why isn't there an option to kick a player while in a game?
There is an option to kick, which can be done by the lobby owner. Hardly makes sense to allow all lobby players to be able to kick each other. If they're being particularly problematic, report then using the Live Reporting options. That's what they're there for.

4. The next problem is not just online but all the time. There's nothing worse than starting a race and then realising you've left the traction control turned off! Can't you adjust the driver aids mid race?
You can adjust your difficulty settings in the lobby menu before starting the next race. If you start a race and realise they are on/off when you don't want them to be, either put up with it for that race and change once back to the lobby, or quit the race and change them and wait for that current session to finish.

5. I've seen a recent thread dedicated to this point, whenever you are in the marketplace there will be a message which appears as you try to go back which tells you that the action failed or something like that, then it chucks you out back to the main menu.
This is again something that was being worked on when I read some dev info last. It doesn't prevent you from being able to buy, but agree that it can be frustrating when these errors occur sometimes.

6. In single player quick race there is no option to set the number of laps which i think is stupid really!
I'm not sure if this one is a joke or not. The point of the 'Quick Race' game mode is exactly that. It is quick. Designed for a simple few laps around the course of your choice in the car of your choice. It isn't there to allow endurance races around the 'Ring etc. There are numerous online game modes that will allow you to create your own lobby and do that kind of thing, or time trials against other lobby members/friends using the Rivals mode.

Come on Turn 10!! We need some fixes!! ranting
Added some responses above that may answer your points. The technical bugs/glitches happen to everyone, not just a few individuals, so it isn't just you that has to wait for lobbies to close/games to end etc. To be honest, if you're sat there waiting for ten minutes for the lobby to close, you probably should have gone back to your Dashboard about 8 minutes before and just rebooted the game.

These things happen, particularly when you have such a complex game, with such a vast number of online players. Yes, it gets a little frustrating, especially prior to the last update, but if you want to play it then you'll stick with it, and if not, there's always other inferior racing titles.

To give you an idea of the prior loading/online problems, my in-game counter has racked up 27 hours spent within the menus. It's almost two thirds of my overall playing time. They'll never get these things exactly right for everybody, but I'd mimic the comments in here about joining PH games if you want people to race. the xxPH club has been hosting games pretty much every day since November.

I'm not biased towards Forza at all biggrin

Find the culprit's name in the lobby menu, open their Gamer Card, and use the options in the list on the left-hand side to report them.

This will give you a list of options to report them for being a pain in the arse. The game itself wouldn't be able to facilitate the reporting of racers, let alone be able to handle it alongside the rest of the online gameplay. Your best bet is to do the above and report them directly to Microsoft, so they aren't paired up with other people as easily in the future.

As well as reporting the player via their gamercard, you can also "prefer" or "avoid" them. I use this quite a lot to stop myself getting matched up with idiots.

It also depends on where you play; the PH Lobbys are a lot of fun, but I found it hard to stick to the schedules of play. I tend to play on the "Cycled Production" server because I find the fact that everyone has the same car minimises the tap habit of trolls.
