Looking for a new PC strategy game

I used to really enjoy stronghold and spent the majority of 1st year uni battling it out with my flatmates over stronghold 2.

Looking for something new now, I know there's a stronghold 3 out but the reviews don't look too good. Anybody got any other suggestions?
