it just keeps making these odd clicking noises and wont load anything up, would a laser cleaner disc thing help?, or putting a hoover up to all the open bits?(im worried this might totally feck it) i was going to take it apart and get rid of all the dust etc until i noticed its sealed(bloody sony) any ideas or is it broke for good? thanks in advance

Are you sure you've not mistaken it for your toaster instead?

Cleaner might help, if not take it down to the Sony Centre.

THey send it off for you and I know they used to give you a refurnished one for about £30. Not sure if thats still the case...

This may sound preposterous but put the disc you are trying to play in the machine.

Then turn it off.

Turn the PS2 upside down and leave it upside down.

Now turn it on.

It should work...

you think the laser carriage might have come off its spindle? i know that used to happen with psx's - does it still happen?

so do I (Mr Friendly), but if you can get a refurb one from Sony for £30 I'd do that!

Bloke fixes Playstations, for Sony.

Unfortunately I can't do you an out and out refurb for 30 quid, however that is the price for a new one on an exchange basis.

Best get sending that email.
