Hi,

Hoping for some words of wisdom as so far I havent had much joy getting this game updated to full PH technical standards

Problem one
I couldn't get hold of the correct files.

If it's just the car set manager you can get it from here - <a href="http://dixierunners.speedgeezers.com/gpl-w/GPLCSM.zip"><a href="http://dixierunners.speedgeezers.com/gpl-w/GPLCSM.zip">http://dixierunners.speedgeezers.com/gpl-w/GPLCSM.zip</a></a>

Or the full GPLAIM from here - <a href="http://dixierunners.speedgeezers.com/gpl-w/GPLAIM.zip"><a href="http://dixierunners.speedgeezers.com/gpl-w/GPLAIM.zip">http://dixierunners.speedgeezers.com/gpl-w/GPLAIM.zip</a></a>

I downloaded these and put the exes in the gpl directory.

When I run GPLCSM, I get
'Component 'TABCTL32.OCX' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid'

When I run GPLAIM, I get
'53, File not found'

Don't normally think of myself as a PC numpty but this is not going well :frown:

GPL itself is working ok, and I have got my MOMO up and running.

When I try to get the files from the GPL workshop it all goes wrong too :frown:

Just checked something, I think they are the updates not the full application with the installer.

Go here - post 15 - http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=152283

It's the 5MB full version of GPLCSM (you really only need this one if you want to install the GPLEA updates)

Then run the install.

OK, so I've now installed winVROC and the patch.

when I load it I get an error

'the procedure entry point RichEdit10ANSIWndProc could not be located in the dynamic link library RICHED20.dll'

Wondering if it's because i'm on a network connection in work (rather than my home adsl). Oh well will try it tonight if I get the chance

Go into the WinVROC folder find the RICHED20.dll file and delete it, it's not needed. Won't stop it working if you don't.

Just make sure your vroc.ini file is exactly like this

[VROC]
Address=racelist.vroc.net

Cheers again, no joy tho'

Got rid of the error, and changed the .ini altho it was already correct, but thought it couldn't hurt.

must be nearly there tho...

Now I'm in but it won't connect, again this could be a network issue, I dont know my socks from my elbow

its probably the vroc.ini file still. sometimes even when it says the right thing it still doesent work, but i cant remember the fix for this? fwd!! also check in the vroc options that it has the right gpl directory, its the first thing when you click vroc(top left) then options.

Best thing to do is put it all into one line like this.

[VROC]Address=racelist.vroc.net

Then make sure there aren't any spaces after the .net bit.

then put the curser after the {VROC] bit and press return to get this.

[VROC]
Address=racelist.vroc.net

It needs to be accurate, no additional spaces before or after.

Maybe the server was down when you tried earlier.

Cheers,

I've tried these too, still nothing doing, probably my regus net connection causing the problems.

as I say, I'll try it tonight with my home broadband which is what I'll be using for real anyway.

Any word on the next race?
