A lot of people have found their perfect game, be it Oblivion, GTA4, Uncharted series etc.

I have enjoyed these but there is always something missing. I love the sandbox idea, the ability to roam around and make any choice you want..but I have never been into aliens/mutants/dungeons & dragons.

So try as I might I never really got on with Fallout 3, Oblivion etc.

I much prefer current day themes ala GTA, Modern Warfare etc, but they restrict me. GTA is open-world-ish but no where near the scale of Fallout 3 - there was very little ability to effect the storyline / no choices of interaction.

Heavy Rain had choices, but within a linear plot.

So I am waiting for that game, set in 2011 in Britain, where some sort of st hits the fan (riots, anarchy, beans & shotgun needed), where I can choose to get out of bed, put on my suit and go to work as normal or steal a TVR, drive down to Basildon and set of a nuke.

Do Bethesda have this in development?

hehe

I'd like Gran Turismo physics (or better), with Forza/Need for Speed's car customisation, and real roads - particularly mountain passes.

Forza 4, GT5 and TDU2 all mixed in together I think that would be an excellent game

Ive never understood why games like GTA, cant buy the old forza engine for the driving part, itd make the game so much more interesting.

As for open sandbox games, I do love the idea, but theyre never really open, you have to follow their set path on the campaign. Id much prefer an open "fk over the bad guy and take control of his drug empire, do it however you please"

Game with Forza like driving physics, and Flight Simulator like Flying physics. Where you can do what ever you want, drive or fly what ever you want and go anywhere you want. So basically life as a billionaire.

a space battle type thing like homeworld... and a cross between that and tie fighter so you can take the big ships into battle and can leave the ai to deal with it and play with fighters/bombers.

This! Only none of that MMORPGGGG ste.
Zero sum games are rubbish. I want to be in my own well rendered universe, blowing stuff up, subjugating alien races and buying massive battlecruisers. In my attic.

Also, Sid Meyers Pirates only done much better. THe core of a great game, but just missing a few bits to make it perfect.

It needed trading, proper trading, and the inventory/ship battles sorting out, and the stupid mini games removing or rennovating. This was the PSP version though. I enjoyed it a bit, but it left me thinking that it was a missed opportunity to make a great sandbox trading/ship warfare/piracy games.

I played the PC / Steam version and thought much the same - it didn't seem as gutsy as the original one, so sounds pretty similar to the PSP. I'm half tempted to downlaopd it for the iPad, as it feels that sort of level. I agree it needs a whole extra layer.

I wish they would do a modern version of the Desert Strike series of games.

Also modern Road Rash type games with the freedom of TDU.
