Hello. wavey

As it comes out in shops today, I thought we could start a topic.

Although there doesn't seem to be a lot of intrest in this game. Is that because the last few Need For Speed games haven't been quite as good as thier previous efforts (ie: Most Wanted, Underground 2 etc etc)

Or is it the arcade handling? I quite liked Hot Pursuit and I will be getting this game sometime next week to see if it is any good.

So, basically this thread is to discuss what you have found cool/annoying about the game.

All the NFSs are ste. I'd only resort to buying one if Forza didn't exist.

Hot Pursuit was excellent, this takes a backward step. I won't be buying.

This would make a very enjoyable movie, Michael Bay could do a very good job making this into a movie, but the game is a bit meh.

idea - That is a good idea.

I will still be renting it next week anyway. If it isn't that good all I have lost is £5 (Blockbuster).

I only buy Need For Speed games when they are around £10. Never buy 'em new. biggrin

Totally different for me I'd only buy Forza if NFS didn't exist.

I can go for track days etc so I'm not a big fan of slow sim games. I like to thrash a car around at silly speeds doing unrealisric stuff in car games I can't do on the road.

I loved the last NFS hot pursuit and will be getting this if it is from the same mould.I dont really think you can compare the NFS games with the likes of forza and Gran Turismo as they are more of an arcade style high speed blast than an accurate simulation as with the former two which can feel a little slow and cumbersome untill you get the really quick cars.

Maybe not as realistic but still great fun and usually includes most of the top supercars.

Hot Pursuit was bloody addictive, after every race you either increased rank or won a car, plus you had people beating your times on the Speedwall. Only drawback for me was the slightly arcadey handling, other than that it was a superb game smile

I agree Hot Pursuit was great, although it was very rare someone beat my times on the Speed-Wall. tongue out

I will wait till next week to see if this is any good. thumbup

A film with a massive race across america, lots of explosions, some intense foot chases, more explosions, lots of flashy cars, extremely attractive women, and probably a sex scene. And even better would be limited or no use of CGI. That would be a good film.

Indeed; Michael Bay is very good at making explosions, ludicrously choppy action scenes, and finding sexy ladies to drape over things. If that's what you want from a film he's the best man for the job.

Well which would you rather have, a film with exotic cars being driven by 20 something super models, or a film with exotic cars being driven by balding middle aged men? I'll go for the former hehe

Michael Bay is a and makes awful films. He should never ever be allowed to make another film after Transformers 3. All CGI, no substance.

The NFS franchise lost me with Shift 2. Saying that, I wasnt that much a fan of their other titles. Shift 2 was just terrible handling though, not even Arcade, just numb and unresponsive.

I've been reasonably interested in this leading up to launch but I read the review and it made me lose all interest. I think I might get Forza 4 even though I'd really only be buying it for the 16 player online.
