Ever since I was young, I've always yearned for a game that just lets you drive on normal UK roads. Not racing, just driving

I dunno, you start off at an A-road somewhere and have to get to somewhere 200 miles away, and negotiate roads and traffic like we all do each day. You can choose your car, design your own even. Behave well and not get into any trouble, or do 130mph down the motorway and get into Police chases! Turn on your stereo to play your own music off your PC or console etc.

Now I've typed it up it sounds st.

I tried Euro Truck Sim a while ago, it is good

Great idea but not feasible, how much computing power would you need to have separate AI for each car on the road?

The AI of the other cars isn't too bad. They sometimes indicate too.
