And no, I don't mind Gran Turismo.

Ever since I was young, I've always yearned for a game that just lets you drive on normal UK roads. Not racing, just driving paperbag

I dunno, you start off at an A-road somewhere and have to get to somewhere 200 miles away, and negotiate roads and traffic like we all do each day. You can choose your car, design your own even. Behave well and not get into any trouble, or do 130mph down the motorway and get into Police chases! Turn on your stereo to play your own music off your PC or console etc.

Now I've typed it up it sounds st. paperbag

On my own?

Woah, that looks good thanks. I'd prefer cars, but I'll give it a go.

Downloading the demo now.

Great idea but not feasible, how much computing power would you need to have separate AI for each car on the road?

Maybe some day in the future...

The AI of the other cars isn't too bad. They sometimes indicate too. biggrin

Nope, I always thought that would be great too - Rigs of Rods is close - but no AI:

Great idea. You could have all the best driving roads in the world to blast down.

I'd love to have speed cameras and see how fast I can go past them biggrin

Isn't this what Test Drive was when it was young and innocent? Test Drive 3 was the best one for letting you just roam.

Try GTA4 with careful driving and just don't shoot people?
