So how many points has everyone got so far? I think that is is a pretty neat reward system in that the further under the Gold time you go the more points over 100 you get...

I have got about 1100 now, but have only just started trying for the golds....

Hadnt even noticed the points readout? didnt realise I was getting any I'm guessing I find that in School mode where the cups are listed?

I have noticed something strange though. If you set a lap time on a track and go to the standings screen (little podium graphic). click the x button on any entry.

It opens a little box with a 'passcode' made up of 4 sets of numbers? Whats that all about then?

Yeah that's in school mode if you click on the starting square it tells you how many licenses of each colour you have and your points. You get 10 for bronze, 50 for silver and 100 for gold. If you do better than gold you get more points.

The code that is generated is some sort of time verification I think. I assume sony may set up some sort of prize scheme, or it could be for an official website where you can have your times displayed.

I have 1892 points now - surely someone else must have noticed how many they have... God that Macca F1 test was a pain, about 12 minutes without hitting anything or going off the track - Torture!

36 golds
4 silvers
6 bronzes (can't be bothered with the coffee break challenges)

Yielding a grand total of 5183 points.
I hadn't realised that beating the time by a bigger margin gave more points, but beating gold by 30s on one of the catch-the-car-in-front tests can't have done any harm

2150 points now, finsihed all the tests, now going to try and make them a bit quicker!

Definately do not go here then:

www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=mchp&page=title&r=PS2&title=171442

And while you are not going there, try not to buy a steering wheel

It is pictured in the manual, which has got to be a good sign!

No, I'm still on standard dual-shocks. But if someone else speaks favourably of it, I might find it hard to resist...

Ive played GT3 tons with that logitech wheels. Its great fun to play with, but it takes some getting used to. One of its best points it the force feedback, im not sure how it is on other wheels, but its just superb on this one. And it also allows you to switch between 2 different feed back settings in case one may be too strong for you or something. Only bad thing about it is that the motors that drive the wheel can be a bit loud at times and it sometimes gets annoying. It may be expensive, but it is worth the money.
