Hi,

I've given up trying to get GP4 to work on my Dad's PC. Replaced graphics card, played with umpteen patches/fixes/suggestions etc and no go.

I've now bought him a PS2. Question is, what game do I get for someone who really wants GP4 on a PC? He bought F1 2003 and hated it as it was too arcadey I think. He has no interest in rally games either.

So, any other F1 games or touring car games out there that have a little realism rather than aimed at enthusiasts rather than pure gamers?

Any help appreciated!

While not F1, GT3 is currently the best 'simulation' racer on any of the consoles.

Though i never thought i would say it, i disagree.
I have always been a major fan of the Gran Turismo series however in my wait for GT4 i started playing Tocca Race driver 2 and i have to say that the actual racing and performance of the cars in this game is far better than GT3!. Although i love being able to purchase and win new cars i had another go the other night and felt really let down after playing race driver 2. Every car sounds the same and i hate the way they just bounce off walls and other cars. Also all the colours are far too bright and well...colourfull really. Also the sense of speed isn't the same as in race driver 2.
Saying that though i am really looking forward to gran turismo4 especially after seeing the video. Also Driver 3, forenza? motor sport, street syndicate racing, and need for speed underground 2.
For now i would buy him race driver 1, the graphics are still ok and you get to set up your car before each race.

Thanks for the replies. Is the TOCA series available for the PS2 (espec TOCA2)?
