TVR Typhon
500bhp Supercharged Tuscan R
The Typhon is the new range topper from TVR! The £79,995 supercar comes with a 500bhp supercharged version of TVR's straight six.
The supercharger is accompanied by twin intercoolers and the engine benefits from a sequential injection system.
Available from the spring of 2004, it features TVR's own six speed sequential gearbox (see below).

I don't think the colours help! I'm struggling to work out what the back strip leading to the gear lever. Is that just a strip of leather, or a hole?
On the plus side, I figure it's designed to have good ergonomics (thus the reason it's angled towards the driver?).
Remember this is a sequential 'box, so the lever only has to be pushed forward or pulled backwards to change gear.

I got the moving backwards/forwards thing, but that hole seems to rather on the large side! Makes it look rather odd IMHO. Are you sure the whole lever moves, I thought that the top half just pivoted back/forwards (as the carbon fibre lined hole isn't in the same direction as the handle).

I like it, it's different.
It would also seem that some people with some pull at TVR do read these pages, cause I definately remember this name popping up repeatedly for them to use in previous threads.
Good show guys!

Yep, a quick trawl reveals TivHead suggested it in August - www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=16224&f=13&h=0&hw=typhon
However, in Greek Mythology Typhon was the father of Cerberus, and as this is the most recent 2+2 I suppose it's a logical jump....
When I looked at the picture first I thought that car had two handbrakes. Why would a car have to handbrakes? Then I read the text.
If it's a sequential box, then the gearstick will probaly rotate, clockwise and anti-clockwise (+/- 10 degrees). True, it does look a bit odd, but I reckon the ergonomics are spot on.
