I've found a Mustang, it's at the top end of my budget but reasonable. The advert says the car was imported from California, but it doesn't say when. There are a few pictures but no close-ups of bodywork etc, and they look as if they were taken in America.

I have been in touch and the owner has offered to send any pictures i need. I was just wondering if anyone here could offer some advice of any areas of the car that will be prone to rust. I guess with it being from Cali it shouldn't be too bad but as i say i don't know how long it's been over here.

Thanks, Tom.

Like all old cars rust can appear anywhere and everyhere. Common area is the battery tray area and the front inner cowl panel, which you can't see but can check by pouring water down the air vents infront of the screen and seeing if it leaks into the car in the lower dash corner area.
