I've had a couple of Mustangs in the past, a 1969 351 GT, which was fun but awful, but not bad enough to put me off a 1988 302 GT convertible, which was excellent, until I ran out of money.

Time I think, for another. Got to be a V8, soft top would be nice, budget 10k. Is that practical to get a decent and reasonably reliable one for that money? I'd prefer a later model, kind of modernish, like 200 or newer.

Weekend car, so don't really care about fuel consumption, So what Mustang, or maybe some other US V8 would fir the bill?

You'll easily get a facelifted SN95 for that sort of money.

Cheap to run with mid/high 20's to the gallon and insurance will be reasonable as well.

A good pick that you would enjoy driving and cherish would be an 2003/2004 Mustang Cobra SVT. MPG in lower 20s possible 24 but a suprise in power and handling with an IRS.

oh, true.. There are a lot of sn95s like Roo said. You can't beat the sound of a v8 modular motor with exhaust set up.
