im new to american cars, and its all down to my dad, i am a jap man through and through, but my dad has a soft spot for the new mustangs and is considering buying one, he is nervous about shelling out for a 2011 car incase 6 months down the line ford decide to release a right hand drive model and residuals on the left hand drive models dive through the floor.

my question is this, does anyone know if there is any chance of a right hand drive model ever being made??? i doubt it very much, but i guess you never know what goes through those crazy yanks minds sometimes.

i think this is the only thing that worries him, so if anyone has any ideas or answers for us it would be appreciated.

cheers

virtually zero risk imo.
There are bugger all RHD markets. The UK would sell piss all and not be economic.
If they come at all they will be LHD. Same goes for Camaro etc. LHD only.
But there is a higher possibility that Ford may bring them in as per Chevrolet/GM with the Camaro.

Ford only sell Mustangs in the US and Canadian markets, there are no plans to expand the market so LHD it is. I am a 2011 owner your father will definitely not regret the purchase and the car should cure you both of any ricer tendencies!

One thing to bear in mind is that Ford do not honour any guarantee or warranty outside the domestic markets - so buy from a reputable dealer with an in house warranty.

I agree no chance of any RHD or imports and to be fair, Ford have tried to make the 2010-11 car look like a ricer, so you'll feel at home... wink

If Ford imports any mustangs it will be like dodge did in 04 and only st LHD models.

I was at a car show a couple of years ago and talked to two guys who converted new Mustangs to RHD and they had a demonstrator on show. It looked factory standard. Can't remember the firms name though, sorry. This could be a route to take.
