Does anybody have any experience of working with ford dealers in the states with regards buying and importing a new Stang?

Any recommendations of any to call who have imported to the UK and know the system from their end?

Thanks for any help.

A member of the Mustang Owner's Club www.mocgb.net has recently imported a Shelby GT500 KR from a dealer in the US. If you ask over there, I'm sure you'll get some good feedback.

Or try www.s197.co.uk as others have imported their cars too.

Good to have an impartial view. rofl

In fairness, we did a calculation at one point with the low exchange rate and the price being charged by some importers was not unreasonable. However, the trick here is obvious and ensure you get a car at the best possible exchange rate. They can be registered new though so not sure how you conclude that.

Thanks for the help. My own S197 is still quite happy on my drive, though I did get stung buying it from a UK dealer on the price, service and quality of the car and it still took longer and more phone calls than if I'd done it myself. This was more of a question to see if anyone had any contacts at US dealers who had imported cars over so new the process as well.

Thanks again.

Jon, Why have you re-registered under a new username? I thought you already had a username on Ph? Wasnt it/ isn't it V8-Muscle?

Why would buying a new car from a US dealer then be registered as 'used' in the UK..I dont understand. IVA modifications can be carried out by one of the few decent companies that advertise in Classic American such as Teslyn. As for warranty, you can purchase a comprehensive warranty through a UK company for around £800.

Yes, it used to be. Suffice to say, appropriate and permanent action has been taken.
