'Stangers,

The PH south west forum has been busy putting together two charity events for PH members at stately homes in Dorset. Both are in aid of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.

We've quite a few great cars coming along such as a Lamborghini Miura SV, Mosler MT900S, Ferrari F40, Ascari Ecosse, Jaguar XJ220, Koenigsegg, Lamborghinis and Ferraris, about 40 TVRs, Corvettes, some Mustangs, Vipers plus many other vehicles including both a Bowler Tomcat and Wildcat, a 1972 BMW CSL, E-Types and a Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix.

We also have quite a marvellous selection of prizes in our charity raffles, from powerboat cruises along the Jurassic coast to a glider lesson to handmade chocolates to a day with a Top Fuel drag racing team.

Classic and modern Mustangs ALWAYS welcome, plus any other Yank muscle.

Full details / maps / prize and car list can be found here:

Update

The event on Sunday at Sherborne Castle was attended by about 120 cars and raised almost £700 for the Air Ambulance. It costs £3500 per day to keep the ambulance flying, so this money is very sorely needed.

Thread with lots of pictures

After the main meeting we visited the Air Ambulance base to meet the crew. Whilst there we conducted a sound test to see who was noisiest - 1st was Macey in his TVR Tuscan (115db), who won the bottle of wine and Noisy Bugger trophy; 2nd was Foundy's Ferrari (113db) and joint 3rd was Duesey's vintage Lagonda and Chimtvr's Corvette (112db).

We also took pictures of our cars around the helicopter and the crew were kind enough to answer some of our questions, e.g.

Due to advancing time, the countryside drive suffered but a number of us made the trip down to the coast:

The website for the next event at Kingston Lacy on 19th July is:

Hope you can make it!
