Anyone know of any 2003/4 Mustang Cobra's for sale in the UK?

Not sure what sort of money they are going for but would quite like to know.

Cheers. smile

Very rare. last one I saw was a convertible a few years back going for about £20k. You'd probably have to import one. Like many yank cars, they have become something of an icon and seem to retain their price as a "collector's car" and those that haven't have been dragged to oblivion and back. You may find it cheaper to buy a 2005 and fit a supercharger.

Yeah I've only seem a couple in the UK.

Think its pretty much the only car I'd swap mine for. I do like the s197 but just not quite enough to make the jump, even with a blower.

lol I know wink

I really do like the s197 (a lot). But there are a couple of things that stop me.

Such as they are actually getting quite common on the roads, not a bad thing by any means, but something that detracts for me.

And to get one to the level I'd want would take a lot and I still think it'd be compromised.

With a Cobra 500-550hp isn't hard to get and you'd have that lovely Eaton blower wine. IRS and a 6 speed would be nice too.

I think I'd probably look at super/turbo charging the Camaro if not but the potential of a bust axle and a nuked gearbox (auto) are ever present. I do like the Vettes too, but I think I'm a pony car man and I like having 4 seats.

I'll just have to keep an eye out I guess (oh and keep playing the lotto too) biggrin

There's one in the Classifieds.....

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1604181.htm

It is me, or is £10.5k far too cheap?

something is fishy about that sonic blue cobra in the classified. 10.5k tells you he wants to get it off his hands some reason...

Not an unreasonable price for the GT500 of it's day. Has to compete with the new model Mustangs so this is two models ago now plus you can get a lighter 345hp Corvette C5 for £12-13k. In the US the car is highly desirable for the modding possibilities but with import duty and shipping on parts, that aspect is perhaps less of an option in the UK.

Also having looked at their website it appears to be a Japanese import and I think still in Japan.

Still not sure on prices, Mustang prices in the UK seem all over the show. Stock sn95 GT's seem to be priced up higher than Mach 1's and Cobra's of comparable years, so I wonder if its lack of knowledge on what they are more than anything.

That said the last Terminator I saw for sale was up at £18k, but it was up for a long time and I don't know if it actually sold. This was at least 2 - 2 1/2 years ago.

As for performance, the Terminator was more C5 z06 pace than regular C5.

Hmm, save for the small matter of an extra 548lbs dead weight.

lol, biggrin yeah cornering and g's the Vette wins. Was meaning more against the clock and acceleration wise.

Although I'm lead to believe the IRS Cobra's actually handled fairly well, at least on par with an SS Camaro, but I've not been in one, so can't comment first hand.

I've owned a 02' Trans Am WS6 which was supposed to have upgraded suspenion etc. and it does not compare to the IRS in my Cobra. Everything is better, for as much money i have dumped into the cobra to make as much power in my old LS1 i would of had to have a complete rebuild of the engine. I love the 03/04 cobras.

Looks like it according to their website.

don't think I'd be that bothered, although I'd want to see the car before committing myself.

Think a Terminator is about the only car I'd swap my z28 for. I do like the s197's, but there's something about the Cobra that really appeals, an easy 550hp for one thing, the bad ass looks for another and the fact they are rarer than Lambo's here in the UK.

rarer than lambos? i feel special now. I just wish regular people would know there is a difference when seeing an 03/04 cobra and a regular mustang. I have tried to play with a few cars but no one seems to want to have a go.

Got one here in Glasgow with around 23k on the clock that sadly very rarely gets used......brought out the garage, cleaned and put back again, I do a lot of mileage at work and dont get the chance to use it as often as I would like (that would be every day without fail)
Car is black.
Great condition.
No mods carried out.
Heaps of fun.
Cheers,
JGL
