My own fault really, as I haven't had the Show All Forums piece up on the Gassing home page for a bit and I've only just discovered this section.
In October I sold my 1995 TVR Chimaera and am expecting around Christmas time, a huge great ship to come sailing into Bristol containing amongst thousands of other cars, a 1965 Mustang Coupe I've brought from a dealer in California ...
I did have a '67 289 Coupe which I had for a year prior to getting the TVR but I'm sorry to say the TVR didn't get used as much as the Mussie did (wife and kids wouldn't all fit) so it had to go ... and some of the magic I initially felt when I bought it had faded.
I did really love the Mussie though as I'd hankered after one since I was a kid ... so I knew I had to have another ...
It was always going to be a '65 or '66 as they had not so much of an aggressive look as the later ones which I liked. And where was the best place to get one where I would get better choice and price? The States.
I quite fancied a Fastback but after a bit of thought whether to buy a decent restored one or one to restore, I settled on a Coupe cos it left me with some dosh to do the garden next year (a wee bit of bargaining wth the other half), plus I got a really Coupe for the money.
Sorting out the personal importation details (shipping etc) and paperwork required has been a learning experience in itself, but a rewarding one I think.
New one below followed by previous one ...
Cheers, (and thanks to Ted)
