Sounds as though all the mufflers have been removed! Does anyone know more about an SLP exhaust system?

A few of us have them. They do two versions - with and without silencers. At idle they burbble nicely, at WOT they sound like a NASCAR/Spitfire smile They drone a fair bit at 2K ish. Here are mine and Stigs - mine on an otherwise stock system, Stigs with longtube headers and catted X-Pipe.

Neither video really captures how load they are though. They would be a PITA on a daily driver but for a weekend car thumbup

That car was open header I believe.

I had mine sound tested (for a laugh) at the weekend at Cadwell. Bear in mind that it's CONSIDERABLY louder when the engine is under load eek

Cheers for the replies guys. Lovely sounds. Are loudmouths the name of the complete system or the backbox? I like your rear diffusers - they seem very similar to a Shelby GT500 rear diffuser. Where did you get them from - did you have to ship them over from the States?

Mine are "axle back" but they do complete systems too. The company is SLP. I don't know anywhere in the UK that does them, I picked mine up on holiday in The States. Kind of expensive to import them at the moment with the crappy exchange rate.

I think Stig's diffuser is standard on the CS (Cali Special)?

The Loudmouths are just the rear boxes (cat back). I also have American Racing longtube headers with race cats which help. The diffuser is standard on the Califonia Special (which is what I've got). I'm sure you can get them easily enough as they bolt straight on in place of the GT one.

they didn't test wink

is that 118-125 on drive by?

Edited by swerni on Tuesday 14th April 15:12
No - that was static. Driveby would still be WAY over track limits though.

Mine was tested at 106 up at Oulton with the Loudmouths so those headers and x-pipe mustn't half make a difference.

the make a huge difference.

I've changed my from and H pipe to an x-pipe which improved the sound no end.
Once you go for the long tubes it makes it sound like a NASCAR
yes

The race cats also make a difference as they're far less restrictive than the stock items.
