Hi

Does anyone have or know anyone that has had a Shelby GT500 complete body kit fitted (and painted) to their GT v8 (latest model s197) Mustang? I love the look of the GT500 but to find a used one with between 25-30k is near enough impossible (the few I have seen have very low miles so are at best 32-34k), so was looking at just getting the body kit and sticking with the 4.6l. Are there any specialists (with websites) in the south east UK that could help me source and fit this kit?

Thanks for any help and info on this.

Matt,

Contact vpr on here. He had the whole front end on his last one converted to GT500 spec. He might help out.

I looked into this myself last year and it's $$$$$

If your budget is £30K then you may as well try to find the extra £2K if you want the Shelby look. By the time you pay shipping and have the parts sprayed you'll be paying a fair bit. This guy does them on Ebay (US) for $3,200. Not a good time to be buying parts from the US with the crappy exchange rate frown

I'll dig out the paperwork tomorrow and PM you but I bought the parts off ebay. THE single most costly part was the hood. Because of the size (not weight) it had to be shipped on a half ton pallet and the cost was mad. This together with the import duties etc made it expensive but worth it.

I really wanted a GT500 but not the weight it carried so the 500 front end was the answer and I think transforms the look of the GT to a much more agressive muscular look.
Then there's painting/fitting.

we are taking an absolutely perfect GT500 in white with blue stripes, all options, 1700 miles only and this we can let go for £31500. Will definitely be cheaper than a new GT with GT500 mods.

Charles.....you should mention it to Dave.

Reckon he could be tempted now that our mate has bought my orange car.

He's long been thinking about one.

Oh and keep me posted on the 09 big boys ram when they arrive.

Amazingly Clive Sutton has a nice black GT500 for £30k and I can't even sell my house to buy it at the moment so I may as well tell you about it!

On autotrader here (not sure if this lengthy link will work but otherwise just do a search for Ford Mustang with Shelby in the "more options", it's actually a 7000 miler for £29,950!!!!! : http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/FORD...

Just an update on this- we can have the car whenever we need it but our clients challenger does not arrive until 23rd December. The car is in better than new condition and no side repeaters have been drilled in.
